Lucius Orsini
Based in Sydney, Lucius is the founder and Managing Director of Zero Payments and has over 16 years’ experience working in the payments industry. He established Zero to be a champion for merchants and an important part of our success has been working collaboratively with payment partners to create innovative solutions for our customers.
While fintech continues to evolve, Lucius sees technology, innovation and a common sense approach as key factors in helping businesses solve problems and achieve their goals. He also credits Zero’s success to our long- term partnerships and always delivering on promises via our service model.
When he’s not dreaming up even smarter solutions for merchants, you might find Lucius kicking a footy around as coach of his local AFL club, enjoying a quiet drink at his local, or sampling a new restaurant or bar.
Dom Berry
After starting his career in media sales, Dom moved into the tele-communications and IT industries where he held a series of senior positions in both London and Melbourne. In 2010, Dom joined Zero as co-owner, and has worked with Lucius to successfully grow the business over the last 10 years.
Dom is well known around the hospitality, business and sporting communities in Melbourne, and his passion for his work means he’s always happy to chat about how Zero can help potential customers and partners with their business.
Outside of work, if it even looks like sport you can bet Dom loves it, particularly AFL. He’s been known to support his customers’ venues to enjoy dinner and wine with friends (and experience first hand just how well those payment solutions are working!)
David Hefter
David Hefter is a key part of the Zero Queensland team, and brings with him over 30 years’ experience, in roles including Commercial Director, General Manager and Sales Director and Head of Operations.
In an industry where David sees just how little contact banks have with their merchant customers he believes in taking the time to understand clients’ needs and building strong client relationships .
After hours, you’ll find David out on the water as a part time sailor, playing a round of golf, or exploring the great outdoors with a 4WD and a tent.
Derek Clarke
Derek Clarke is the Zero consultant for WA has over 20 years’ experience working in the payments industry. His clients have ranged from SMEs to some of Australia’s largest corporate and institutional companies, so our clients know they’re in capable hands.
As a strategic and innovative thinker with a detailed knowledge of the industry, Derek crafts tailored solutions that drive impressive results for both our clients and partners.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys socialising with friends and family and hitting a white ball into the bush and searching for it most weekends (which despite all the swearing, he promises is fun).
David Hedditch
David Hedditch is one of our Zero consultants in Queensland.With over 20 years’ experience in the FMCG, hospitality, clothing manufacturing and sales industries, David has developed an excellent, practical knowledge of what makes a business succeed (and the most common ways to lose money, fast - so he can make sure your business doesn’t).
David loves partnering with businesses to help them grow and maximise efficiencies. He enjoys doing the jobs you hate to do...whether it’s investigating more cost-effective suppliers, cold-calling new business opportunities or managing change. Everyone needs a David in their life.
He also has a passion for sport. Any sport. He’s not fussy. In David’s own words, “Doing business doesn’t have to be hard. Having the right procedures and processes, supported by the right person in the right position, is a simple recipe for success.”
Bill Johnson
Bill Johnson is a Zero consultant in Victoria with vast experience in the IT industry. He has worked in senior roles in major international IT companies including Fujitsu, Siemens and Symbol Technologies, and has consulted with large organisations offering a range of solutions covering the transport, health and logistics industries.
In the past 20 years, Bill has been heavily involved in the retail sector, using his expertise to advise companies on retail technologies, including Point of Sale software, RFID solutions, Realtime Location Systems (RTLS) and payment solutions.
Bill balances his busy work schedule with an equally busy leisure time, finding time to play golf, walk his two dogs, cook, wine taste and sample the variety of foods in many of the fantastic establishments around Melbourne.
Wayne Tanner
Wayne Tanner is our Zero consultant in South Australia and has over 30 years experience in the Financial Planning Industry. He spent 10 years as Senior Manager Financial Planning in Westpac before starting up his own business offering a range of solutions and advice to high-net-worth clients. During this time, he also owned a successful country hotel with bar, food, accommodation and gaming.
In the past 10 years he has also been heavily involved in the retail sector and knows first hand the importance of growing your business and having an effective and reliable payment solution.
Wayne’s biggest passion outside of his work is Golf. He loves playing, watching and follows any sport that has an Aussie involvement. He loves fine dining (and eating!!), always trying to support his customers’ businesses.
